About HSR Online

The purpose of this online forum is to foster and encourage participation in the open discussion of Health and Safety issues in the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry.

In achieving this purpose we also recognize, while it is primarily a communication tool for the elected Health and Safety Representatives of the areas of work that are regulated by NOPSA under the Submerged Lands Act, we need to encourage any valuable contributions that can be made to enhance our efforts by those outside of this jurisdiction who have expertise and insights to share.

Who can join HSR Online?

Access to the forums and discussion groups is controlled by a registration system designed to guarantee security and freedom to the participants and ensure the integrity of the processes. In this way, it is our intention to facilitate open and frank discussion of issues important to HSRs, in a supportive environment.

The site moderator/facilitator will provide access according to the objectives outlined above and will encourage a culture of respect and safety for all contributors. A statement of culture is one of the objectives of this forum and contributors are encouraged to check the culture page for their opportunity to express their views and contribute to the culture.

We recognize the potential to share our insights and solutions to problems we face within the broader Health and Safety Community of the Oil and Gas Industry and will publish any relevant results in the public access area of this site.

About the HSR Annual Forum

The HSR Forum is an annual meeting which aims to:

  • Identify, discuss and share key issues being faced by HSRs;
  • Develop solutions to issues faced;
  • Identify partners needed to assist in implementation of solutions;
  • Assess and discuss how HSR’s see the role of the HSR in the future; and
  • Identify specific actions that individuals will undertake following the forum.

The event is organised by the industry, for the industry. Attendance is limited to HSRs, APPEA members, government representatives and invited speakers.
